Nick celebrated his 3 month birthday with his first cold! :( Poor little guy started getting sick last Friday and progressively got worse throughout the week. We moved his papasan into our room and which helped him to sleep a lot better. We called the doctor and they asked us to come in. The good news is that his lungs sound clear and they think he's on the mend. He's still pretty snuffly and has a yucky sounding cough but as long as he doesn't have a fever and the cough goes away by next Thursday, he should be fine.
We also found out that he weighs 12 pounds, 12.5 ounces...which means that he's fallen in the percentiles for weight. But since he's sick and hasn't been eating as often or as much, we'll assume that he might have lost a few ounces and will be back on track very soon.
Developmentally, Nick seems to be doing well. He smiles at us & his toys - he especially loves toys that light up, like his butterfly and bouncy seat. He can lift his head almost 90 degrees when he's on his tummy, thanks to lots of tummy time (which he's enjoying!). His newest trick is opening his hand to hold his rattle when it's touched to the back of his hand. Every day I try to teach him something new, and it's fun to watch him learn.

I can't believe how big he is already! It seems like I just stopped by a week ago! He's almost big enough that I'd be brave enough to hold him...almost. Give me a few more months! :)
Next time we'll get you to hold him AND change a diaper!
