Nick had his 9-month appointment today and continues to be our nice average baby! He weighs 19 pounds 2 ounces (slightly below 50th percentile), is 28.5 inches long (50th percentile on the nose) and is still tracking small with his head measurement. The nurse practitioner informed us that we need to be tougher when Nick cries at night and work to get him to self-soothe. Tonight I switched up his routine so instead of eating & falling to sleep, he ate, we read a book, I rocked him as I sang a little goodnight song and put him down. He protested for a minute and is now sleeping soundly.
Developmentally, we answered "no" to a lot of the questions, but since it's just the beginning of his 9th month they're not worried. He's generally taken a longer time to hit his milestones. For example, he's just figured out how to roll in order to get from point A to point B. It does make watching him a bit more difficult because you turn your head and he's disappeared!
We've also been given the go-ahead to try stage 3 foods to introduce the thicker texture and next will be table foods. It's a very exciting time, but a little sad as well. He's growing up so quickly!
Yes!!! I am still here! But moving to a new spot...
