All I want for Christmas is...my first tooth!

Thanks to everyone for your patience...my laptop has been fried for 2 weeks now so I haven't been able to download pics from my camera. But this is a good time for a little update anyway!

As you may have guessed from the title, Nick got his first tooth Christmas night. He had been rather cranky all day Christmas Eve and Christmas Day which is not normal for him. He doesn't like anything cold so he has turned away teething rings, frozen washcloths, and frozen fruit in his Baby Safe Feeder. What he does like is to chew on the nipple of his training cup...and a little bit of baby Tylenol has definitely helped. I'm afraid to use Baby Orajel because I've heard that it can numb baby's throats and cause them to stop breathing. I suppose this is really more a risk at night when the baby is laying on its back, but you know me...I err on the side of overprotection!

We also moved Nick up to the Stage 2 jarred foods. I'm not sure if it was the consistency or the flavor of the Gerber Chicken & Gravy, but he gagged with every bite (only 2) and cried & cried. So we tried the Earth's Best Sweet Potatoes & Chicken and he liked that much better. The doctor wants us to start introducing the puffs that are like rice cakes & melt in their mouths as well as cheerios. I'm so afraid of choking though and since he seemed to not be able to handle the thicker stage 2 food, I'm sure he'll choke on the solid foods.

It's hard to believe that 2008 is almost over. We'll be back next year with more pictures & fun times!
